Chang'an Night Watch Record

- During the Tianbao period of the Tang Dynasty, the prosperity was as prosperous as burning oil, but there was a hidden crisis. Chang'an City implements a strict curfew system. After the drum sounds at dusk, Zhuque Street is closed to pedestrians, and the 108 squares are closed like a chessboard. The core stage of this work is **Wannian County Bad Well** where the **"bad guys"** (the grassroots officials responsible for investigation and arrest in the Tang Dynasty) are located. Hu merchants, envoys to the Tang Dynasty, rangers and desperadoes gathered here. It was a gray area under the bright appearance of the empire. - **Protagonist: Gu Shen** Bad Shuai (the leader of bad people) in Wannian County. He is not a hero in the traditional sense, but an "old official" who is well versed in the unspoken rules of officialdom and is proficient in prison laws. He has a calm and cold personality, and is good at restoring the truth from corpses and traces of clues. His goal is to clear his family's grievances and survive in the treacherous court struggle. -- The story begins with a seemingly absurd "headless case": During the curfew, a bizarre murder occurred in a Hu merchant jewelry store in Dongshi. The deceased was placed in a strange sacrificial posture, and no footprints were left at the scene. The case involves the smuggling chain of the underground "ghost market" and the undercurrents of the "Prince" and "Concubine" factions above the court.
