Someone has to take care of the ancient mythical beasts that have wandered around in modern times. An unlucky man who works in a funeral parlor accidentally inherits a dilapidated pet shop left by his grandfather - and then discovers that the animals inside are not cats and dogs, but ancient mythical beasts from "The Classic of Mountains and Seas". He must take back these troublesome beasts and prevent them from being discovered by human society. The problem is: each of the mythical beasts is more difficult to maintain than the last.
