Broken Mirror: from Best Friend to Enemy

Author's Notes I write to you who, in every city with flashing neon lights, has traveled far away with a lonely heart, and has expressed your sincerity to the people beside you, and who has also shed tears secretly in the rental house late at night for the separated people, the broken love, and the difficult road. Every night when I write the story, I always think of that autumn at the foothills of Changsha, when two girls from a foreign land dragging suitcases crashed into each other's lives. They once huddled on a small bed and chatted until dawn, talking about establishing a foothold in this city; they once shared a bowl of instant noodles to survive the early morning hours of overtime work, and shouted to the lights of the Xiangjiang River that they would conquer the world together; they once tried their best to be each other's armor when the other was in the most difficult time, thinking that this friendship could withstand all the wind and rain in the world. I think you must have had such a person before. You treat her as your only relative in a foreign land, tell her your grievances in the office building, the embarrassment of calculating rent and salary, and the fear of the future without reservation. You thought you were each other's warmest support in this cold city, but you didn't expect that it was the person you trusted the most who pushed you into the abyss in the end. The overt and covert attacks in the workplace and the scheming in the vanity fair are not as painful as the knife handed to you by the person closest to you. We have all doubted ourselves in front of the broken sincerity, and thought about giving up in the city with no one to support us, but if the mirror is broken, life cannot be broken. I hope that every one of you who stumbles in the city, even if you have been let down or hurt, can still hold on to the bottom line in your heart, stand firm in the mud, live as your most solid backer in the wind and rain, and always dare to run towards your own light enthusiastically and magnanimously.
