On the eve of demolition, I unexpectedly took over an abandoned old residential building that had long been forgotten by the city. The entire building is filled with lingering mold and rot all year round. The voice-activated lights in the corridor never come on during the day, but only flicker on time at midnight. In the empty rooms on each floor, there are old "residents" who don't want to leave. I just wanted to clean up the ruins as soon as possible, but I kept digging out old contracts among the ruins, which were yellowed and brittle. The handwriting was blurred and difficult to read. However, the names on the signatures were exactly the same as those of my family members who had disappeared long ago and whose lives were unknown. I thought I was sorting out the relics and sorting out the past, but little did I know that every time I turned the page, I was awakening the mysterious past events that had been dormant in the building for decades. Those contracts are never waste paper, but contracts of life and death, and I am the one they have been waiting for half a life to sign the final deal.
