The world's top talents disappeared out of thin air one after another. Officials called it a "disaster" and said it was contagious. My mentor, colleagues, mother... Everyone close to me has become a source of disaster. I am the only one who has touched them and yet has not disappeared. What they don't know is that I dream about an elevator every night. There were no numbers on the buttons, just names I recognized. A cold mechanical voice sounded in my ears: "Within ten seconds, select a button. Otherwise, the system will select randomly." I pressed the first name-a friend I hadn't spoken to in years. Then he disappeared. And I became the new source of disaster.
