This book is adapted from real events. As a guerrilla fighter active in northern China, Chen Yingkun was betrayed, resulting in the annihilation of his entire squad and his own serious injuries. Depressed, he returned to Nanjing, and under pressure from his father, he was forced to take his younger brother to Malaya to manage a rubber plantation.
