In 2147 AD, the United Earth Government launched the "Ark Project" - two immigrant ships carrying 6,000 people flew to Kepler-442b, 1,100 light-years away, to find a new home for mankind. Engineer Lin Shen is one-thousandth of the number on board the Ark-2. He slept in cryo-sleep for a full one hundred and twenty-seven years, and was awakened early by the sound of the spacecraft's alarm. What awaits him is a desperate reality: the main engine is damaged, and there are only 72 hours of energy left. The 2,997 passengers are still sleeping and in danger, and the spacecraft has been captured by an unknown gas giant planet and is falling irreversibly into the abyss. What's even weirder is that of the three thousand people on the ship, only three were awakened - botanist Song Zhiyi, navigator Jiang Wang, and himself. In the corner of the engine room, he found an unidentified corpse, whose information had been completely erased from the database before the spacecraft was launched. As they repaired the engine and unearthed the secrets of the spacecraft, the three gradually discovered that the Ark Project was not what humans thought it was from the beginning. Lost communications between two ships, tampered logbooks, a destination that can never be reached, and a truth deliberately forgotten in space. With three days to count down, they must repair the engine to survive while solving a mystery that has been buried on the ship for 127 years. What is more terrifying than the engine failure is the truth they are about to encounter-- Ark never intended to take them home.
