This book was written in February and March of 1937, and was completed in May and June. After the "July 7th Incident", the author went to Yan'an and taught at the Northern Shaanxi Public School, and the manuscript stayed in Shanghai. With the recommendation of Zhang Zhongli, the manuscript was officially published by Life Bookstore in December of the same year, and was released to the third edition in February of the following year. This publication is based on the third edition.
