This book uses historical philology, hermeneutics and other historical and intellectual history (history of philosophy) methods to study "Spring and Autumn", "Gu Liang Zhuan" and its previous commentaries from multiple perspectives. From the pre-Qin and Han dynasties to the early years of the Republic of China, Spring and Autumn Guliang studies developed through pre-Qin exegesis, early Han immersion, Han Xuan's great rise, Eastern Han dynasty Wei Jue, Wei and Jin dynasties, the rise of Yishu studies, the Tang Dynasty's exclusive commentaries on Yang Shu, the Song, Yuan and Ming dynasties, the revival of Sinology in the Qing Dynasty, and the Republic of China's return to the roots and a new era. Over the course of more than 2,000 years, the Spring and Autumn Period and Guliang Studies embody the historical characteristics of "good interpretation of the Spring and Autumn Annals, and understanding of the three transmissions" and "spanning ancient and modern times, and twists and turns of evolution", highlighting the historical status of "supporting the weak and repairing the weak, returning to the roots and creating new ones", and "continuing the academic tradition, and the three transmissions share the same glory".
