Sichuan Chinese Academy of Sciences was founded by the Sichuan military government in 1912. It is the provincial Chinese studies institution with the purpose of "promoting Chinese studies and carrying forward the quintessence of Chinese culture". Wu Zhiying is appointed as the president, and Liu Shipei and Xie Wuliang are the vice presidents. Its members include Lou Liran, Zeng Xuechuan, Liao Ping, Zeng Ying, Li Yaoxun, Yang Zanxiang and other famous Confucian scholars. In 1927, it was merged into Sichuan University. In the past 15 years, it has always been called "Chinese Studies" and it was an important center for Chinese studies teaching and research in China at that time.
