"Dialects and Chinese Literature in the 20th Century" uses the evolution of language concepts, language changes and literary transformation in modern Chinese novels in the 20th century as the overall background to sort out the changes in dialect theory and dialect creation (including novels, dramas and poems) in the history of modern literature, and selects typical "cases" for specific analysis. It is divided into two parts: one is mainly about the history of dialect literature before the "May 4th" vernacular movement and a review of dialect theory in modern literature. The other part mainly explains the novel creation and its stylistic characteristics in dialect literature.
