Selected Poems of Bai Juyi
Literature白居易诗选
Wang Zhiqing
Bai Juyi, Li Bai and Du Fu were once known as the three great masters of Tang poetry, and he was one of the weird ones in Yuanhe. The strange thing is that he deliberately followed the vulgar and used vulgarity as beauty. His aesthetic pursuit should be said to be a kind of courage, wisdom and strategy. Bai had a tendency to indulge in exhaustion, and many of his poems were shallow, direct, and written in a stylized way. Therefore, although there are three thousand poems in existence, they are both criticized and praised. For the sake of his integrity, the selections for this anthology are not all popular "traditional articles", nor are they all exquisite articles that are often strange but elegant yet commonplace, nor are they all "people's" works that criticize realism. The chooser pursues the effect of "defamiliarization", reads the text carefully and deeply, and repeats it endlessly. Therefore, there are often understandings, new perspectives, and many things that others have not said.
