I wrapped the grass and salt in the iron pot with a cloth and asked Aunt Xijun to burn her knees. When Aunt Xijun left, she asked for the remaining grass, saying that she could find it and treat it herself when she got back. My father kept staring at me. Suddenly I was no longer afraid of his gaze and raised my face to look at him. After that incident, it was the first time I looked at my father like this. I thought of that incident again, but it seemed like I wasn't so scared anymore. I wasn't so afraid of remembering it anymore. The strange thing is that when I am not afraid of remembering it, I can't remember it. It's like having an eraser, erasing that thing bit by bit and writing something else on. Even if that thing is there, other things will be covered on it.

While she was arranging dinner, I went into the bedroom to pack the necessary clothes and the painting tools that I could take with me. I rolled up a slightly formed painting and hid it under the sofa. After running for a long time, I panted and slowed down. At this time, my suspicion was confirmed, and someone was following me. Although it was not surprising to see pedestrians on the road in the middle of the night in the city, I was sure that those footsteps were following mine. I stopped and listened carefully. Yes, the footsteps were getting closer and closer, firm and timid, and then I heard gasping. I turned around and she was standing a few steps away from me, shivering as if she was cold. She squatted down suddenly, hugged her head and knees, and began to cry. The more she cried, the harder she cried, and finally it became a howl.

The next days of my life are in this agreement, put on the table, discussed, arranged, and stipulated in black and white. Wang Ruoya thought blankly, full of illusion. She moved her hands to her belly and held them there, as if she could find support. Opposite were brothers Li Liuding and Li Qiding. Wang Ruoya could not keep her eyes on Li Qiding's face. Wang Ruoya was squeezed between her mother and her husband Chen Shi. She didn't know if she could still call him her husband. On the other side of Chen Shi was his mother, who didn't know if she could still call him her mother-in-law. There are agreements, pens and ink pads on the table. Wang Ruoya didn't want to see these things, so she turned her face sideways, but when she saw the marriage certificate on the coffee table, her eyes started to hurt violently. She lowered her head and closed her eyes. The marriage certificate was dangled in front of her face and opened to her, clearly showing: Li Qiding, Wang Ruoya, and a photo of the two of them.
