"Mayfly" is based on the life in the Leishui area in the early days of China's reform and opening up. It takes the life experience of the protagonist Ma Youyou as the main line, narrates the various life scenes of the local people, and uses a similar approach to the rise and fall of a family to show and sing the praises of China's era of great development. The novel tells the life destiny of a group of ordinary people. They may represent kindness or ugliness, or they may be monastic or lovely. They are all the epitome of that era.
