This book takes the "Tianshui literary phenomenon" and the creation of the Tianshui writers group as the main analysis objects, and gives a more systematic review of the performance characteristics, value origins and flaws of Gansu literature from different angles. The book contains a total of forty-seven articles written by the author in different periods, divided into six volumes: "Speaking to the Honorable", "Listening to Others", "Songs of the Contemporaries", "Talk with Brothers", "Written in Nushu" and "Miscellaneous Discussions". Starting from the two levels of analysis of the author's creation and characteristic phenomena, it combines real text reading and rigorous theoretical interpretation, including detailed and sincere case analysis, as well as macro and overall problem research. In the process of writing, the author integrates his perceptual experience of daily literary writing and rational cognition of theoretical teaching, seeks a balance of expression between ideological enlightenment and aesthetic pleasure, and constructs a thoughtful and beautiful literary criticism through his own practice.

Over the years, the special needs of national ideological self-construction and the participation of too many people have made Lu Xun research increasingly appear to be in an awkward position in its development. Among the many remarks about Lu Xun's writing, the author of this book takes a unique approach and places his thinking on Lu Xun's writing in the context of the attitude of modern writers towards local folk cultural resources in the process of Chinese literary modernization (or globalization). From the perspective of Lu Xun's writing, This article makes a relatively comprehensive and systematic discussion of the relationship between Lu Xun's writing and folk culture from eight aspects, including the occurrence of folklore interest, the influence of folk culture on Lu Xun's writing theory, Lu Xun's main treatment of folk culture, and the writing significance of Lu Xun's folk culture expression. The book is rich in writing materials, rigorous in structure, detailed in analysis, and powerful in argumentation. It uses smooth and highly textured text expressions from a special perspective to provide a lot of useful enlightenment for people to understand Lu Xun's writing and the modernity of modern Chinese literature.

This work is a deepening of the author's research results of the National Social Science Fund's Western Project. It intends to use the unique perspective of literary folklore in the fruitful "Lu Studies" research to examine the folklore performance of Lu Xun's works from both literature and folklore. With the help of a specific case, in the creation of multiple tensions between individuals and groups, elites and people, local and foreign, literature and society, tradition and modernity, it explores and thinks about the efforts and difficulties in the generation of modern Chinese literary modernity. The book is composed of an introduction and several chapters. It conducts a multi-faceted investigation and analysis of the relationship between Lu Xun's creation and folk culture from the aspects of the significance of the research, the internal and external factors that led to Lu Xun's interest in folklore, the specific expression of folk culture in his writing, and the value and significance of his writing.
