1963 "xiangjiang Case" Detection Records
General Fiction1963年“湘江案”侦破纪实
Wang Shuen
After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Kuomintang agents used the opportunity of our central leaders' overseas visits to plot and carry out assassinations quite rampantly. The "Kashmir Princess" incident in 1955 was aimed at Premier Zhou Enlai. Although their evil purpose failed to succeed, they killed many of Premier Zhou's entourage. From 1955 to 1963, there were a total of 17 cases of Taiwan special forces plotting to assassinate our leaders that were uncovered by our public security organs. Although these criminal plots failed to succeed in the end, they were determined to create a larger-scale assassination with more secretive actions and worse means. On May 1, 1963, Liu Shaoqi, President of the People's Republic of China, led a Chinese delegation to visit Cambodia and received a grand welcome. Flowers were displayed, colorful flags were flying, and slogans of warm welcome became louder and louder.
