In ancient Chinese literature, Taiwan was called "Yingzhou", "Yizhou", "Liuqiu", etc. In the Yuan Dynasty, a governor's department was established in Penghu. After Zheng Chenggong recovered Taiwan in the Ming Dynasty, he established Dongning Province and Chengtian Prefecture. During the Qing Dynasty, Zheng Chenggong's descendants established Taiwan Prefecture and Taixia Road in Taiwan. Later, the Qing government changed the name to Taiwan Province, and the name Taiwan was officially determined, and it has been used to this day.
