This book focuses on how the translation project of the four-volume "Academy of Sciences Edition" "History of Russian Literature" comprehensively presents the development process of Russian literature from the 10th century to before the October Revolution as described by first-class scholars in the Soviet period. It combs and displays the historical evolution, artistic achievements, ideological value, cultural connotation and aesthetic characteristics of Russian literature during this thousand years; in comparison with similar works at home and abroad, it reveals the literary history concepts, leading ideas and editing embodied in this representative set of literary history works.
