Narrative Gap Research

Tu Nian

187K0

Narrative gaps refer to the phenomenon that certain meanings in narrative works are not conveyed or are not clearly conveyed in the text. It is a very common and important narrative communication phenomenon. Omissions in novels make the meaning of the text "hidden and more obvious"; silence in dramas makes the audience feel greater shock; empty shots in movies make the audience linger for a long time... So far, no one has conducted in-depth research on this from the perspective of narratology. This book attempts to conduct a comprehensive and systematic study on the four aspects of the cause, expression, filling and value of narrative gaps from the perspective of broad narratology, using theoretical interpretation and text analysis.
