Generally speaking, the manuscript analyzes the epitaph inscriptions of the Northern Song Dynasty as "texts". As a writing activity, the content related to epitaph inscriptions cannot be fully covered by "concealing evil and promoting good". Clarifying this issue is not only beneficial to comprehensively grasping the method, content and characteristics of the writing of epitaph inscriptions in the Northern Song Dynasty, which will help to deepen the study of epitaph inscriptions themselves, but also be of great help to the objective understanding of epitaph inscriptions as data.
