Since the late Ming Dynasty, women in eastern Sichuan have been called female generals. Why are women called female generals? There is indeed a reason for this! Chungju is the hometown of Ba Manzi. It is backed by Daba Mountain, facing the Yangtze River, bordering the "ghost town" Fengdu on the top, Wanzhou, an important town on the Yangtze River, on the bottom, Liangping County on the back, and facing Shizhu Tujia Autonomous County across the Yangtze River in the front. More than ten miles west of Zhongzhou Town, there is a hanging rock waterfall called Mingyu River, which is more than 50 feet high. Under the waterfall, there is a deep pool, a deep cave, and ancient trees. Qin Mansion, a prominent family in Chungju, is located on the bank of this picturesque Mingyu River. During the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, the master of the Qin Mansion passed down to Qin Kui's generation. Qin Kui, named Zaiyang, was a tribute student in the dynasty. In his early years, he was an official abroad. Because his nature was too upright and he was dissatisfied with the intrigues in the officialdom, he resigned and returned to his hometown. He focused on raising his children and lived a leisurely pastoral life.
