In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was void and formless, the face of the abyss was dark, and only the Spirit of God moved on the waters. God said: "Let there be light!" So there was light. God separated light from darkness and called the light day and the darkness night. After the night, morning comes, the first day. God said: "Let there be a firmament between the waters to separate the water from the upper part and the lower part." So he created the firmament to separate the water from the upper part. He called the firmament "the sky." The night passed and morning came, the next day. -"Genesis"
