Compared with the translation and dissemination of ancient Chinese poetry, novels, and operas outside the country, there is less systematic research on the overseas translation of ancient Chinese prose. In the cultural system with French as the carrier, this book examines the basic situation of ancient Chinese prose in France from 1919 to 2019, such as the category definition, text selection, interpretation, and communication effects. It analyzes the relationship between complex translation and communication phenomena, explores the historical context, functional characteristics, and operating mechanisms of its translation and communication over the past century, as well as the transition from politics to aesthetics, from the margins to the hot spots, and from singleness to pluralism.
