Based on the author's personal experience, this book describes the changes of a labor camp in Tonghe Town, Heilongjiang Province. The author came to live on a farm when he was 5 years old and worked on a labor camp until he graduated from high school. He lived on a labor camp for 19 years. Experienced the social changes in the labor reform farm from the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China to the reform and opening up period. After the author became a media person, he used a new perspective to describe his interactions with leaders, armed police, teachers, classmates and prisoners on the farm, as well as the customs and social development and changes on the farm. It not only criticized the negative phenomena in society, but also praised the good qualities of a simple and kind-hearted older generation who worked hard and created a better life, arousing people's thinking and reflection on the past life.
