This book mainly takes Liu Yizheng and his historiography as the research object, and conducts research and discussion around Liu Yizheng's cultural views, historical thoughts, historical methods, historical research achievements, Liu Yizheng's relationship with related historical groups, and his relationship with other modern scholars. The main feature of this book is a case study of Liu Yizheng. Liu Yizheng is a well-known historian, philologist, and educator in modern China. He has been active in China's history and education circles. He began to rise to prominence in the early 20th century and successively taught at Nanjing Jiangnan College, Business School, and Liangjiang Normal University. He taught at Xuetang and Nanjing Higher Normal School, and later served as the director of the Jiangsu Chinese Studies Library until his retirement in 1949. He was appointed by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of China as a professor and member of the Academic Council. In 1947, he was elected as an academician of the Academia Sinica. As a famous historian, Liu Yizheng had many famous scholars and masters from his disciples, and many modern historians and cultural masters had close contacts with him. This book attempts to fully demonstrate Liu Yizheng's academic status in the modern history.
