The academic goal of "Introduction to Chronotemporal Narratology" is to establish a historical cognitive narratology in addition to structuralist narratology. This is an extremely difficult and neglected academic field, and one must be brave enough to dare to step into it. The author starts from the linguistic model of poetics, that is, the model of historical linguistics and cognitive linguistics, and goes deep into the inner texture of the chronotope theory. By extracting the basic principles of historical cognitive science in the linguistic model, the author makes an in-depth analysis of the chronotope theory. Starting from the most basic elements of chronotope theory, the author successively analyzes the interactive relationship between narrative semantics and narrative grammar, the interactive cognition of "narration" and "things", reveals the inherent social and historical factors and the potential of narratology, highlights the idea of historical cognitive narratology in comparison with structuralist narratology, reveals the embryonic form of historical cognitive narratology contained in it, and then summarizes it into several principles for constructing historical cognitive narratology. It should be said that in "Introduction to Chronotemporal Narratology", the author's thinking is profound and meticulous. If narratology wants to break through its own dilemma, it must find another way out. New narratology that focuses on context is an important way out of this dilemma. Therefore, the theoretical choice made by the author is in line with the needs of academic development.
