Tong Deng Lu
Short Fiction通灯录
Sugar Monk Golden Glutton
Preface to "Tong Leng Lu": Why write this string of "lamps"? When I wrote this line, I just listened to two old people chatting in the supermarket in the community. 65-Year-old Uncle Zhang said: "Today's young people always talk about 'involution'. We were doing farm work at that time and went to the fields before dawn. How could we have time to talk about this?" The 20-year-old shop assistant girl next to him curled his lips and said: "You are physically tired, but we are mentally tired." One said "You don't understand our suffering" and the other said "You don't understand our suffering" - this scene actually happens every day. I began to wonder: Is the distance between people really that far away? When looking through history books, I found that Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty was worried about "how to make the world stable", and today's young people are worried about "how to gain a foothold in the big city", which are essentially "fear of not being able to handle the life in front of them"; Socrates asked "what is good" in the square, and today's middle-aged people are struggling with "working overtime or spending time with their children", the core of which is "fear of making the wrong choice". It turns out that thousands of years have passed, and the thing that confused people has changed its clothes and is still there. So I wanted to write such a book. Instead of writing about big principles, write about "people": about a 22-year-old girl who was in a daze about the options of taking the postgraduate entrance examination and working, and about Zeng Dian who said "I just want to go to the river to take a bath in the spring" more than 2,000 years ago; about a 35-year-old man who is calculating the mortgage payment and the education of his children. Fei Insomnia also writes about Su Shi working as a prefect in Mizhou while wondering "how to cook pork to make it delicious"; about a 70-year-old man laughing out loud when looking through old food stamps; and about Diogenes telling Alexander "Don't block my sunshine" in a barrel. The writing method is also simple: first lay out a "slice of current life" and let
