"The Eyes of the Ladder" is the sequel to "Leave a Door for the Swallows". Like "Leave a Door for the Swallows", "The Eyes of the Ladder" is also the author's recollection of his childhood life in the countryside. The content involves the poultry and livestock raised by the villagers, insects in the fields, various farm tools, various craftsmen and the daily lives of the village girls.
