"An Examination of the Literature of the Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties" is divided into three parts: an examination of the novels of the Ming and Qing dynasties, an examination of poetry and prose of the Ming Dynasty, and an examination of ancient operas. The previous article analyzed the development clues, value orientation and personality style of chapter novels, and also analyzed "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", "Water Margin", "Journey to the West", "Jin Ping Mei", "Three Words", "Er Pai", "Dream of Red Mansions", etc. It puts forward a unique understanding of the ideological content and thinking methods of Ming and Qing novels. In response to the disputes over the copyright issues of "Journey to the West" and its sequel "Xiao Wu Yi", it conducts research on the authors of these three novels and puts forward its own opinions. The middle part focuses on the relationship between Song and Ming Neo-Confucianism and Ming Dynasty poetry. It examines the relationship between Song Lian and Cheng-Zhu Neo-Confucianism, Tang Shunzhi, Xu Wei and Yangming Xinxue, and Yuan Hongdao and the Taizhou School. It also provides a unique understanding of the literary thoughts and creative characteristics of these poetry writers. The second part discusses the origins of Zhugong Diao and Nanxi opera styles, the characteristics of Chinese and Western classical tragedies, and analyzes opera works such as "Jingzhong Banner". The whole book pays attention to the combination of textual research and empirical analysis with theoretical speculation. It has rich historical materials, sufficient arguments, full of speculation and novel viewpoints.
