In the future interstellar era, human beings continue to explore the universe and strive to turn other planets into human beings' second homes. Dr. Scott Childress and his team completed the first sustainable working quantum drive engine in 2075, providing a more convenient way to explore the universe. RSI applied for a patented technology for planetary ecological transformation in 2113. It designed and manufactured a machine that could process and transform the atmospheric environment and convert oxygen to form an environment that can sustain human life. In 2120, the Mars planet ecological transformation project began, but in 2125, a major tragedy occurred on Mars. 4,876 Scientists died after the Martian atmospheric environment collapsed. RSI released its first civilian spacecraft, the RSI Zeus class, in 2140, becoming the first small exploration spacecraft to be widely used and distributed. Over time, the UEE approved the Fair Chance Act, declaring assimilation of living planets a crime. In 2800, the UEE built the Ark, which would be a database containing information about all species in the universe, and also serve as a way to compensate for past mistakes. In 2872, the UEE Synthetic World Project was launched in an attempt to turn rocks into habitable worlds. This was the first attempt, rather than terraforming existing planets. This project is located in the Kronos system and is planned to take tens or even hundreds of years to complete. But by 2920, the synthetic world project was progressing slowly, the Empire was struggling to make ends meet, and Vanduul's attacks were becoming more frequent.
