This book provides an in-depth and simple explanation of ecological civilization. First, the author sorted out the relevant theories of ecological civilization, clarified the historical inevitability of building an ecological civilization society based on the principles of dialectical materialism and historical materialism, and demonstrated the necessity, urgency and arduousness of China's ecological civilization construction. Secondly, based on the understanding of traditional Chinese ecological culture, the author especially introduces the simple ecological civilization concepts and practices of ancient China and Chinese ethnic minorities, as well as the ecological civilization elements contained in the world's three major religions, with the hope that the past can be used for the present and the foreign can be used for China. Subsequently, the author explains my country's urban ecological civilization construction road, rural ecological civilization construction road, the leading role of consciousness and culture in the ecological civilization construction, the basic position of natural ecosystem protection in the ecological civilization construction, and the supporting role of the five industrial development systems in the ecological civilization construction.
