The 1974 Case
General Fiction1974年那桩案子

Xie Lan knew he was lost. The road under my feet was as winding as an earthworm, crawling into the distant crop fields. Several tall trees are scattered irregularly on the slope. Waves of hot wind hit our face one after another, carrying the aroma of ripe wheat, the greenness of weeds, and all kinds of strange flavors. These are all good, but the surroundings are quiet. Not even the students can be seen, let alone the classmates. Only the cicadas on the trees were screaming desperately. The monotony seemed to come from ancient times, and the noise was almost silent. Xie Lan stood under a sycamore tree. The dense canopy blocked the midday sun, leaving only a few tiny spots of light. She squinted to avoid the swaying light spots and looked around anxiously. A shadow flashed out from behind an old locust tree in front. It was a stocky boy. He had a straw basket on his shoulder and a sickle in his hand. His short hair was as messy as a bird's nest.

Li Mu was stuck in the factory until it was completely dark. Countless rain pillars hit everything on the ground, and the sound they made was terrifying. In an instant, the uneven ground turned into water, and all exposed objects were washed away by the rain without explanation. Really unable to wait any longer, Li Mu grabbed a piece of torn plastic sheeting from the corner, put his hands on his head, and rushed into the rain, one step at a time and one step at a time, and rushed home. About half an hour later, Li Mu walked into the factory's courtyard. Due to the relocation of the factory a few years ago, this dilapidated courtyard where more than a dozen families lived was left behind, about five or six miles away from the factory. Li Mu noticed from afar that there was no light at home, and he suddenly became confused. As he was walking, he suddenly heard his son's voice calling him. When he turned around, he saw his son Xiaosong sticking his head out from his neighbor Dachui's house and waving to him.
