Xia Wanru was originally the daughter of a wealthy family. Her family had been practicing medicine for generations. Her family's medical skills were well-known, and everyone called her the 'Family of Miracle Doctors'. Unexpectedly, on a night of lightning, thunder, and wind and rain when she was twelve years old, a group of robbers broke into her house, wiped out all the gold and silver in her family, and killed dozens of members of her family. Fortunately, Xia Wanru and her mother were hidden in the closet by Xia Yi, so they were able to escape and avoid the disaster. Xia Wanru saw her father lying on the round table covered in blood. Xia Wanru witnessed this tragedy and could no longer speak. A few years later, in order to repay the debt, Xia Wanru married into the Mu family. The second young master of the Mu family, Mu Tianxiao, was unable to walk due to an accident. Originally, he did not agree with the marriage, but he could not trouble his mother. After the marriage, in order not to cause trouble for Xia Wanru, he used every method to abuse Xia Wanru and tortured her in every possible way, in order to make Xia Wanru leave him. But Xia Wanru knew the true intentions of the second young master of the Mu family, and felt his true love for her. Xia Wanru only hoped to fly side by side with her husband.
