This book introduces the development trajectory and current situation of contemporary American youth literature, namely the confused period after World War II, the period of problem novels and the direction of diversified development. In addition, a special chapter discusses cultural ideologies and expressions in youth novels, youth subculture and youth discourse, youth characterization, narrative strategies and techniques in youth novels, and a brief introduction to high-profile youth literature awards and their evaluation criteria. The study of American youth literature has not received due attention from foreign literary circles. This book will open up a new field for the study of American literature in our country, and at the same time provide extraterritorial information and international perspective for the development and prosperity of our country's youth literature.
