Rover's writing has always been accompanied by poetry. He began to write poetry when he was young, and loved the poems of Huang Zhongze, Gong Zizhen, Su Manshu, Zhou Zuoren and others. Later, when he was running a newspaper, he had "poetry friendship" with Liu Yazi, Ai Qing and others. During his stay in Beijing, he said: "My ten years in Beijing were the days of poetry. I didn't live like poetry, but I had quite a lot of leisure time to read poetry. Therefore, I read some poetry collections, and also tried my best to read some poems by contemporary people who had not yet formed collections." From then on, he began to write "Poetry Talk", and commenting on "old-style poems by new writers and artists" became an important part of his subsequent writing, and also started a "poetry talk style" that combines poetry with essays and narratives. This new edition of "Selected Works of Luo Fu: Yanshan Poetry Talk (New Edition)" supplements the "Poetry Talk" articles written by Mr. Luo Fu after 1997 and articles that were not included at that time, and has been further revised.

This work mainly writes about the author's praise of nature, nostalgia for his hometown and insights into life. It also records some humorous, interesting and entertaining trivial matters in life.
