Slice of Life

As I approach 30, I often recall my childhood days. In spring, young leaves spread all over the mountains and plum blossoms hang on the branches, and you can really feel the breath of life; in summer, you go to the mountains to pick tea, wolfberries, wild cherries, bamboo shoots in the valley, and pine trees in autumn. The fallen leaves of the trees are all over the hills. The children in the village are as young as five or six and as old as eleven or twelve years old. They are also led by one or two adults, each carrying one or two sacks to collect pine leaves and dry firewood on the mountain to take home. Oh, and what's more, winter is the most fun. The water in the fields froze, and adults and children put on cotton shoes and wrapped in thick cotton clothes and skated together hand in hand. The scene was still so lively in my memory. As an adult, do you think about your childhood often? The river in front of the village, the azalea hillsides in front of the door, the woods filled with the chirping of insects and birds, and the endless fields all come to mind. The life I was tired of before, the hometown I wanted to escape from but could never go back to.
