This book places the two New Deal reform movements held in the southwest Tibetan areas with Tibet as the core at the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China against the background of modern Chinese history. It derives the objective status of historical development from the intertwined and complex situations and provides an in-depth analysis of the political and economic structure and development of the southwest Tibetan areas at the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China. The internal logic of its development comprehensively examines the background and conditions, motivations and measures, effects and influences of the two New Deal reform movements, analyzes its internal and external causes, and then conducts a more in-depth academic discussion of the internal logic of Tibetan social development in the first half of the 20th century.
