The siren of the drilling platform "Prometheus 7" tore through the silence of the base. Geologist Li Wanzhou stared at the core analysis screen, his breath condensing into white mist in his mask. On the screen, a piece of basalt taken from under the ancient ice layer was showing incredible data - carbon isotope measurements showed that this rock was formed 2.5 Billion years ago, but its crystal structure is embedded with some kind of neatly arranged silicon-based microtubes, much like an integrated circuit. "This can't be natural." Her voice trembled over the communication channel. Project leader Chen Yan approached the observation window. The new rock core that the drill has just taken out glows with a weird blue color under strong light, which is not the luster that minerals should have. He used his robotic arm to pick up the thirty-centimeter-long cylinder, and when he flipped it over, everyone saw it-- Rows of extremely tiny symbols are etched on the side of the core. Not any known writing, not a coincidence of geological formations. The symbols were composed of perfect geometric figures, triangles nested within circles, straight lines running through complex polyhedrons, arranged in a manner consistent with the Fibonacci sequence. "Contact the headquarters." Chen Yan said, "We may need paleographers, cryptographers, and... Astrophysicists." What he didn't say was that three hours ago, the base's seismometer recorded a set of abnormal deep shock waves. The source of the vibration comes from the boundary between the mantle and the core, and the frequency of the shock wave is 7.83 Hz-which happens to be the Earth's own Schumann resonance frequency. It's like the heart of the earth is responding to something. ?
