Through interviews with more than a dozen young girls, the author presents their experiences of being just one step away from happiness in the form of oral records, including their true inner thoughts, problems they often encounter, and the help they need. He hopes to resonate with readers and not to repeat the same mistakes and embark on an unfortunate journey again. He also hopes that every elder can take his children through those precious youth years in a gentle and appropriate way. A young girl is like a vast ocean. The ups and downs on the surface are due to the turbulence inside. Every rapid or reef is the confusion, struggle, challenge and helplessness they face in their hearts.
