This is a collection of naturalistic short stories, including a total of 25 of the author's early essays, diaries, and short stories. Most of them describe subtle fragments of life and vague memories in dreams, such as wine, friends, illness, travel, and hometown. It reflects the life scenes around Japanese literati during the Meiji period. The writing and ink are mostly about what the eyes see, what the ears hear, and what the body feels, like fragments of dreams and reality cut out piece by piece.
