During the Agrarian Revolutionary War, Ningdu was the revolutionary center of the Central Soviet Area in the early stage, the axis of the Central Soviet Area's anti-"encirclement and suppression" campaign, the focus of the central government of the Chinese Soviet Republic, the core of Jiangxi Province in the later stage of the Soviet Area, and an important place where the spirit of the Soviet Area, the Party's mass line and Mao Zedong's military thought were formed. Under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, the people of Ningdu had firm beliefs and tried their best to make great contributions and sacrifices to the revolution and construction of the Soviet Area. They showed infinite loyalty to the party and the revolution and were hailed as the second model county in the Soviet Area.
