This book is based on the basic facts of the academic ups and downs between Japan and China over the past hundred years. From the perspective of comparative culture between Japan and China, this book systematically examines the historical process and basic content of the study of Song poetry in Japan. Taking important poets of the Song Dynasty and major Japanese researchers of Song poetry as the inspection points and connecting clues, it comprehensively demonstrates the important achievements, academic originality, unique academic ideas and orientations, and limitations and shortcomings of Japanese scholars' research on Song poetry. This book proposes that Japanese scholars hold fresh and innovative views on the research object from the perspective of "others" and have contributed to deepening and expanding the study of Song poetry from multiple perspectives.
