Retired comrades from Peking University have made outstanding contributions in the construction of New China and the development of Peking University. Their struggles and personal memories have important historical value and are also valuable spiritual wealth for society. On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, Peking University invited more than 40 old comrades to participate in the compilation of "My Motherland and Me: A Collection of Memories of Peking University Old Comrades Celebrating the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China" to record the history of Peking University, witness the changes of Peking University, carry forward the spirit of Peking University, contribute to the 70th anniversary of the New China, add positive energy to the cause of the party and the people, and contribute to the great rejuvenation of the nation. In this book, retired comrades from Peking University recall important historical events in the development of the country based on their personal experiences; review the rapid development of science and technology and the great progress in society and people's livelihood in my country over the past 70 years; and sort out the glorious history and outstanding achievements of Peking University after the founding of New China. On this basis, I wish the country, Peking University and young students a better future.
