Tragedy is often "unreasonable", but there are not so many "unreasonable" that can properly describe the approaching tragedy. All people were slaughtered, regardless of age, gender, sick or otherwise. The young man was already dead, but hatred made him stand up again, and he reached a contract with an unknown voice, using something he didn't even know in exchange for powerful power and immortality. Whether the unknown voice is a demon or an angel has nothing to do with him. After all, the only thing that can support him now is hatred.
