From the Defeat of Gao Xianzhi to the Pacification of the Anshi Rebellion in the Tang Dynasty
History大唐从高仙芝战败到平定安史之乱
Put Down That Pen
In the ninth year of Tianbao, the Shi Kingdom, a subsidiary country of the Tang Dynasty, united with the enemy country of the Tang Dynasty, Tuqishi, to attack Bohanna, another subsidiary country of the Tang Dynasty. The emperor Li Longji ordered Anxi Jiedu envoy Gao Xianzhi to conquer Shi Kingdom because of the "no ministerial etiquette" of Shi Kingdom. The Shi Kingdom asked to surrender, and Gao Xianzhi promised to make peace. Later, on the grounds that the soldiers were not tired of deception, he captured the Shi Kingdom, massacred its city, robbed the property, and sent the king of the Shi Kingdom to Chang'an to be executed. The prince of Shiguo, who had a chance to escape, asked for help from the Abbasid Dynasty (Black-clad Dashi) of Dashi (Arab Empire). Dashi's reinforcements planned to attack four towns in the Western Regions of the Tang Dynasty. Gao Xianzhi took the initiative and attacked Dashi preemptively. In the following year, Tianbao led the Tang Dynasty allied forces on a long-distance attack, going more than 700 miles deep, and launched a decisive battle with the Dashi army in Talas. However, he was stabbed in the back by the Allied troops of Gallulu. Is this battle destined to fail? Li Ning, a descendant of the magical general Li Siye, came to Tang Dynasty from later generations to fight against the Dashi Army on the fifth day. It happened to be the time of defeat. Although he had good intentions, there was no way to recover? If it is irreversible, how can he survive the encirclement and suppression after this defeat.
