During World War II, Germany formed a total of 19 army groups, and Army Group B was reorganized three times. In 1943, the third formation of Army Group B was completed. At its peak, its strength reached 400,000. Army Group B participated in almost every major battle on the Western Front, including the Allied landings in Normandy and the Battle of the Ruhr.
