北美“留学生作家群”后期写作研究
Peng Guichang
This book takes Nie Hualing, Yu Lihua, Bai Xianyong and other writers who studied in North America from Taiwan as the research object, and points out that their creations after the 1980s are quite different from the "overseas student literature" of the 1960s and 1970s. In their later writing, writers integrated into the local culture and constructed their own identity in the United States through writing about their "new home"; they pursued the roots of culture and continued their parent culture through writing about their "homeland"; they used "marginal" writing to reconstruct the identity legitimacy of minority groups and deconstruct the "center-periphery" power structure of mainstream discourse. The "Group of Foreign Student Writers" in North America "goes to the West and returns to the East" with their later writing.
