This book is compiled based on the recommendations on the reading sections in the "General High School Chinese Curriculum Standards" newly promulgated by the Ministry of Education in 2003. A total of forty ancient poems and essays are selected. This book includes three parts of the author's introduction, annotations and interpretations below the selected poems. The author's introduction is some relevant background introduction to the author and his works. The annotation part mainly explains some difficult words and allusions, and the explanations should be accurate and concise. The interpretation part strives to grasp the main content and characteristics of the article for analysis, to help readers expand their thinking and better understand the ideological content and artistic characteristics of the article.
