After the novel was completed, I read it twice. Perhaps my parent-child relationship with the author made me too familiar and emotional with the scenes, characters, and events narrated in the novel. Therefore, throughout the reading process, my emotions fluctuated. Sometimes I felt like a bystander, watching a nostalgic black and white movie; sometimes I felt as if I was immersed in the scene, and I was a witness to the events. This is an experience I have never had when reading other literary works.
