Rail Track Chronology

My Blackboard

9K0

In his tenth year of collecting scraps in the demolition area, Chen Yan finally admitted that he could see those "things" - an old pen tip with an unfinished letter wrapped around it, a rusty key hanging on a door that couldn't be opened, and a girl in a blue shirt stuck in the gear of a 1953 pocket watch, repeatedly saying "I can't wait any longer." He thought it was an illusion until he met Su Tang. The girl guarded the old bookstore that was about to close down, and she could hear the sounds in the old objects: the diary of returning home in 1945 shouted "Xiao Cui, wait for me", the report letter in 1970 was full of crying, and the pocket watch in Chen Yan's hand always sounded the train whistle at midnight. They followed these "obsession" and dug down, digging out the engagement that was crushed by the railroad tracks, the waiting that was eroded by the years, and a group of people hiding in the folds of the city - Old Man Qin who can solidify obsessions, Li Mo who swallows obsessions, and the man in 1953 who turned himself into a shadow in order to erase other people's past. When the demolition team's forklifts rolled over the old railway, and when someone wanted to bulldoze all the "disgraceful memories", Chen Yan realized that those old things with shadows were not a burden. Just like the scar on his wrist that is always bleeding, it hurts, but it reminds you-- "You have loved, suffered, and lived. None of these are fake." This is a story about old things, obsessions and unfinished things. In the rusty time, there are always some shadows that refuse to leave, and there are always some people who are trying their best to keep the traces of their departure.
